In 2018, Q-System delivered a fully automated buffer solution to Haldex Brake Products in Landskrona, Sweden. The system was part of Haldex’s plan to internalize a previously outsourced painting process and streamline internal logistics.

The solution in brief:
- A 9-lane, 3-level buffer system with capacity for up to 324 pallets
- 15 in-feed gravity conveyors for 180 pallets with unpainted parts
- 12 out-feed conveyors for 144 pallets with painted goods
- Brake rollers and separating stops ensure controlled and safe pallet movement

Integrated automation:
- 3 industrial robots pick items directly from a powered in-feed conveyor
- A Q-Loader and AGV solution move pallets to and from the buffer system
- The entire system is designed to eliminate manual handling and support smooth flow into the automated painting cell

Benefits for Haldex:
The solution enabled Haldex to increase efficiency, reduce heavy manual lifting, and improve working conditions – while securing high-capacity, reliable internal logistics for their paint process.
