Skovgaard Energy develops and implements advanced, scalable, and sustainable energy solutions within wind, solar, biogas, and Power-to-X. We have created a hub for green energy production in Northwest Jutland in collaboration with municipalities, businesses, and citizens. We have established the world’s first dynamic Power-to-X plant and will now produce sustainable aviation fuel in Denmark using biogas and self-produced green energy. Our approach is characterized by rethinking traditional renewable energy development. We focus on ensuring that our projects create value for people, nature, and local communities. This includes local involvement, cooperation with NGOs, prioritizing local suppliers, and developing the skills necessary to drive the green transition. In the presentation, we will discuss our approach to the development and planning of renewable energy facilities and provide examples of how we approach renewable energy development.

How do we ensure a strong and resilient green industry in Europe? Energy, security of supply, and industrial strength have moved to the very top of the geopolitical agenda. In a world marked by growing protectionism, global tensions, and pressure on international value chains, Europe’s renewable energy industry is facing a decisive challenge. More than 100,000 Danes work in the energy sector. These are jobs, export revenues, and critical infrastructure that keep our society running. While other countries are moving fast with subsidy schemes, industrial plans, and strategic development of green production, we hesitate. We must produce our own energy, and the development of green technologies must take place on European soil. This will increase our security of supply, lower energy prices, and reduce dependence on third countries. Without massive electrification of industry, heating, and transport, we will not create the necessary home market for the green electricity in which we are investing billions. We must ensure that future green investments generate jobs and exports – not value creation in China or other countries to which we should neither hand over our investments, supply security, nor strategic infrastructure.

Imagine a single technology that can deliver three of life’s essentials — sustainable irrigation, renewable electricity, and clean drinking water — all from the natural flow of rivers and streams. The HyKin Pump is a Danish cleantech breakthrough designed to operate fully off-grid and emission-free. By converting kinetic energy in flowing water into pressurized water, the system provides a triple benefit: reliable irrigation for crops, green power for local needs, and safe drinking water to ensure local health. Compact, modular, and easy to deploy, one unit can deliver up to 240,000 liters of pressurized water per day for agriculture. Combined with our hydro-electric turbine and RO unit, it also generates renewable electricity and clean drinking water — providing an affordable and scalable lifeline for communities, farmers, and industries wherever water and energy are urgently needed. Developed in collaboration with DTU Skylab, Frecon Engineering, Aarhus University, and Rambøll, the HyKin Pump represents the core innovation of HyKin Energy A/S. The company has since been recognized as a semi-finalist in Danish Tech Challenge 2024 and as winner of the Investment Game Award at DTU Startup Day 2025. Lemvig Vand has just commissioned a new pyrolysis plant. On stage, the company will provide insight into the journey they have been through – from the initial considerations to the final decision and construction of the facility. The presentation delves into the central reflections that formed the basis of the investment: Which factors and expectations were decisive? And what are the perspectives now – both operationally and strategically in a forward-looking climate accounting context? Sewage sludge is a significant source of CO₂ emissions, and with the goal of climate neutrality in the utility sector by 2030, there is a need for major technological shifts. Lemvig Vand has taken a big step in this direction with the commissioning of a new pyrolysis plant – and in this presentation, they share experiences from the entire process: from the first strategic considerations to the implementation and operation of the facility. Pyrolysis is expected to reduce the utility’s overall CO₂ footprint, while the technology also opens new opportunities for environmental protection, including the breakdown of PFAS, pharmaceutical residues, and microplastics. In addition, important nutrients such as phosphorus are preserved, which can be used in fertilizers. Thus, pyrolysis represents not only a technical solution – but also a strategic choice at a time when green transition and resource recycling are more relevant than ever.

How can intelligent measurements and smart data contribute to a more sustainable future? Brunata focuses on how digitalization and data-driven solutions can accelerate the green transition in cities and buildings. Brunata develops and delivers solutions ranging from intelligent sensors and consumption reporting to advanced energy monitoring systems and IoT platforms. We measure and analyze water and heat consumption as well as other forms of energy, providing both property owners and users with a solid foundation for making sustainable decisions. In this presentation, we share concrete experiences with the digitalization of measurements and consumption data – from water and heat to electricity and ventilation – and demonstrate how data can be transformed into action. We explore both the potential and the barriers, and how data can be actively used to reduce consumption and optimize operations. Brunata works closely with the property sector and public stakeholders to ensure that technological solutions not only meet regulatory requirements but also create real value and promote sustainability.
