The challenge
The goal was to map the innovation landscape around a specific technology and explore strategic options such as patentability, freedom to operate, or the potential acquisition of intellectual property assets.
The approach
Using Innovation Reveal, Erre Quadro equipped Ansaldo Energia with data-driven insights to quantify the technical value of the technology under evaluation. This supported a more informed investment risk analysis and provided a clearer picture of the technological environment by interpreting key statistical indicators.
The results
• Definition of 5 performance metrics (technology impact, flexibility, feasibility, maturity, and geographic reach) to assess the technology’s strength and market relevance
• Clear positioning of the proposed solution within the broader technology landscape
• Identification of 16 relevant patent documents forming the state of the art for the invention
