Sweden's oldest flatbread bakery uses Movexx electric tugs in their production

100 years ago, the family-owned company Mjälloms Tunnbröd was founded in Mjällom, in the heart of the High Coast. Today, the twenty employees work in Ullånger, just a short distance from where it all started. Over 400 tons of flatbread are produced here every year, which means handling large amounts of dough.

The production of flatbread involves several steps, but during the dough preparation stage, they identified a need to eliminate a physically demanding part of the process. Johan explains that each batch of dough can weigh between 200-350 kilograms, and the pot in which it is prepared weighs 200 kilograms.

This is a total weight of about 600 kilos that has to be moved from point A, where the dough is mixed, to point B, where the dough is rolled out. Additionally, the pot needs to be positioned correctly at both points.

The limited space in the preparation area, located on the upper floor, meant several factors needed to align to find a successful solution for the company.

To facilitate the movement and handle it in an ergonomic way, Mjälloms Tunnbröd contacted EdmoLift to find a suitable solution. Previously, the step was handled manually, which worked but was not optimal from an ergonomic perspective, says Johan.

After getting in touch with one of the sales representatives, David Nilsson, and discussing their needs, they concluded that a Movexx TT1000-T could be a good solution.
