DIRA Automation Award 2025
Every year, the DIRA Automation Award is presented to a Danish end user with a good automation story. The award is intended to serve as inspiration for others by showcasing unique solutions and processes based on robotics and related automation.
At the same occasion, one or more associated integrators may be recognised.
The nominees for the DIRA Automation Award 2025 are:
Kamstrup
Automation in a class of its own:
Kamstrup and Kilde Automation set new standards
Kamstrup and Kilde Automation have developed an 18 metre long production line that automatically assembles water meters with over 20 integrated processes and a cycle time under 12 seconds.
Vision technology and robots handle loose components directly from pallets, and the solution ensures high flexibility and full traceability. An innovative ramp-up phase made it possible to produce saleable units from day one.
The project shows how collaboration and focus on the working environment can take automation to new heights.
LINAK
From raw material to finished product in one flow
In close collaboration with AKEA and BILA, LINAK has developed a fully automated production cell that transforms six-metre-long aluminium profiles into precisely assembled column sets for raising/lowering solutions.
At the heart of the solution is an intelligent, dynamic measuring process where each profile is measured individually and sliders are milled with micromillimetre precision. This ensures consistent quality and eliminates previous manual processes.
The jury emphasises LINAK's ability to rethink product design for automation. The project has resulted in a reduction from 18 to 3 operators per day - and significantly higher output.
M&J Denmark
M&J Denmark welds its way to global competitiveness
In collaboration with Yaskawa, M&J Denmark has revolutionised the production of shafts with a fully automated welding system that combines vision technology, induction heating and robotic welding.
The solution handles over 1,000 axle variants and makes it possible to programme new variants in minutes. The result is a flexible and user-friendly production that has reduced time consumption by 40% and ensured higher quality and shorter delivery times.
The jury emphasises the system as a technological boost of solid industrial craftsmanship - with documented CO₂ reduction.
