Taking its inspiration from the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia is set to launch the “hi Sustainable Development Award”.
Everyone is talking about sustainability – and with good reason. The hi expo at MCH Messecenter Herning is now introducing a new award, the hi Sustainable Development Award, to celebrate its more than 700 exhibitors and their contributions to a better world.
“The new award is based on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which form the blueprint for achieving a more sustainable future for people, animals, the environment and the climate. The hi expo wants to shine a light on these global targets by celebrating and promoting the exhibitors who make a special effort to incorporate sustainable development into their company,” said Project Manager for MCH Mona Jakobsen, and added:
“We therefore encourage all exhibitors to put their products, solutions and services forward for the hi Sustainable Development Award 2019.”
The award is an attempt to initiate a process and encourage the industry to think about sustainability, explained the chairperson of the hi committee Jørgen Stenberg, who is the CEO of Hans Følsgaard A/S:
“It’s an exciting initiative. We want sustainability to guide our thinking, and this award can kick-start some things that will encourage the industry to start incorporating it more. In reality, the consumers are in charge – if they demand better sustainability in the production process, industry will have to follow suit. But we would like to help start that process,” he said.
Open for submissions
Exhibitors can already put their products, solutions and services forward for the award now. Six of these submissions will be nominated, and the selected nominees will be announced on 22 August. The winner, who is awarded DKK 50,000, will be announced on the opening day of the hi expo, which will take place at MCH Messecenter Herning on 1–3 October.
hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia is organised in close collaboration with leading industry associations and partners and informed by in-depth consultation with the many exhibitors.
